Silvia

My name is Silvia Beatriz Jensen

I have a degree in music therapy from the University of Salvador, Buenos Aires, Argentina and a degree in Music Therapy from the Faculty of Aalborg, Denmark.

I have been living in Aalborg, Denmark, since 1990.

I have a degree in speech therapy and have more than 35 years of extensive experience in music therapy and augmentative alternative communication (AAC).

In my work, I see potential in every person.

The aim is to help the individual to find his strengths, competences and possibilities.

Everyone has the right to independent actions, to find balance in their own lives.

Biography:

1985 Graduated as music therapist from Universidad del Salvador, Buenos Aires Argentina
1985-1990 Employed in special schools, in the Department of Speech-Language Pedagogy (I:C:O:L.), at various nursing homes and institutions for people with mental and physical impairments. Working in a school for autists in Mar del Plata, Argentina.
1990 Moved to Denmark
1991 Approved as a music therapist in Denmark
1991-1996 Employed at a residence for people with mental and physical disabilities.
1996-2014 Professional consultant in the adult disability office, North Jutland County (later in Aalborg municipality)
1999 Established "music therapists", Clinic for music therapy in Aalborg, Denmark
2000 Member of the Interdisciplinary Group Concerning Language and Communication (TAVS Group)
2004 graduated as Cand. Mag. In music therapy at Aalborg University, Denmark.
2005 Published, in collaboration with the TAVS group, the book "From experience to communication", which has been translated into English and Spanish
2016 Completed training PD in Speech Therapy
2017-2018 Employed in Solvita, an offer for immigrant families
2017 Participated in the research project "Music Therapy and Schizophrenia" in collaboration with the Music Therapy Clinic and Aalborg University.
2019 Employed in Aalborg municipality within the area of dementia

Currently

I am an active member of TAVSgruppen (www.tavsgruppen.dk)
I work as a music therapist in different geriatric institutions in the municipality of Aalborg, Denmark.
I work with different clients of different ages and with different diagnoses at "musikterapeuterne". (www.musikterapeuterne.dk)
